The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 看完了！点名夸夸万合各位x 柯达至少承包我一半笑点hhhh父王是真的很有范我晕，太出彩了（被吓到好几次..），结尾看到小爱也好亲切XD声控一本满足
难得的把悬疑、喜剧、立意都做得很好的国产电影。很喜欢电影中赋予的女性视角，邓家佳的部分让我很触动。 夜莺的故事，踩灭火苗的人…也许不是所有人都能理解这部电影，但是至少他们做了想做的事，这不就够了。

内核就非常有问题，女孩被qj是受害者，为什么就名声尽毁没脸见人了呢，之后的剧情都建立在这个前提上，说实话作为法学生和女性，我并感受不到共情和养父牺牲自己的伟大。剧本构造同利刃出鞘，但是内功明显不足。
这片子里的尹正跟第十一回的大鹏一样，占着重要角色，演出净是油腻猥琐自大，从头至尾众人皆醉，选角令人不适

一封给巴黎，给与过去和解的自己的情书。含泪看完整部电影，近年真的很少有这类温情题材的文艺片，拍的很真挚细腻，让我想起了自己的妈妈
很温柔的一部电影，躁动的心也能跟着平复下来。人间温暖能有多少，找到能一起看电影的人难，找到相爱的人更难。

80年代，银幕上的《圆月映花都》、午夜电台、图书馆、配着甜点的歌；好大一排落地窗，对面的楼有好看的立面；塞纳河静静淌着，晨光中的城市是粉蓝色，报刊亭开了门；夏洛特甘斯布，艾曼纽贝阿……太美好了！
颇多惊喜的新片。电台夜旅人、灯火星星点点夜色温柔、穿插的家庭录像带似的复古影像、圆月映花都的引用……80s家庭温情的怀旧情绪在一次次夜与昼的转换中发酵。

因为低期望，去了影院看后，居然觉得还不错。虽然因为空间单一，中间还是一度昏昏欲睡的。大家都说是剧本杀电影，差不多吧，不过本质上我觉跟《非常嫌疑犯》、《无双》、《赎罪》、《欲海惊魂》可以归为一个大类，就是玩弄叙述的电影，he says ,she says, 层层的反转都是建立在不同讲述者对前述故事的推翻和不同角度新的发现之上。余皑磊那个角色的设置，也充分说明了创作者对这个形式的自觉。另外就是故事内核，还是保持了一个朴素的对善的追求和对不公的反抗，尽管只是某种精神胜利法，在当下已是不多的慰藉
过于原教旨，难度密度低。散文课路线不好走的，对比可见阿老师技术。
很出色也很温柔的电影。这一群电影人，精明的圆滑的见钱眼开的胆小怯懦的，但都不失善良，唯一的女性角色有好几处、虽然每处只有两三句台词，都说出女性的心声。一群男人围绕一个美女，不油腻不下流，感觉还挺好的。
