The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 假如郑和下西洋的时候，也有这样一个孩童，他的父辈参与了郑和下西洋的工作，甚至他的父辈参加了航行，回来介绍一路的旅程，在孩童的心中估计也有这个一个梦想，走一遍父辈走过的路。这部电影是关于回忆的，在上世纪60年代，美苏争霸的背景下，婴儿潮出生的一代的儿童时期的经历，结合人类史上最重大的科技活动，感觉在诉说那个时代的光荣与梦想

人类的记忆很奇特，就算是因为睡去而错过重要时刻，但回想起来依然觉得自己亲眼所见。那些肆意玩乐，追逐电视剧听流行音乐的童年往事真是单纯而快乐。
