The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances.     挺好看，也挺有趣味，也挺感人，尤其是最后老伯爵夫人去世那幕，让人想起许多往事。影片画面都很美，服装也漂亮，场景好看，几场群戏非常精彩。时常感觉，这拍的欧洲贵族之家，真的是很有贵族风，而我们的电影中拍出的贵族之家总是晦暗深沉，老朽麻木，缺乏生气。什么时候我们也能把中国的贵族之家拍得生机勃勃，上点档次。

    为了让它更像一部电影，在情节结构上做了有限的努力：从婚礼开始、以葬礼结束，从默片时代到有声电影时代。我知道它不是一部好电影，但在老太太离世的段落还是哭得泪流满面。从第一部开始就在极力渲染的离别情绪，时至今日，似乎必须正式向那个以优雅高贵的典范与惯例为日常生活方式的时代告别。黄金时代的落幕，像是在唐顿庄园的外墙遍洒余晖，而漏雨的屋顶则要伴随着新生活的改变，被填补，被覆盖。祝福遥远的人和生活，在看不清未来的New Era.
