A brilliant and outragously funny satire of society, 7 December 1999

"Flodder" is one of the funniest movies ever made and few people realise that it is a Dutch movie made by none other than the Holland version of John Carpenter, the famous Dick Maas, author and director of the thriller "Amsterdamned". The Flodder family is the reincarnation of the term a-social. When the whole family bunch, basically all bastards, criminals and sluts must be relocated from their City slum because of toxic waste under their house, the city council house no choice. The only available space is in the "Zoendal" - the "Sun Valley" the best area in Amsterdam where all doctors, snobs and businessmen can afford to live their lives. And where the central point of interest and politics is the tennis club of the community. The Flodder family brings devastation to the tranquil world that ruled before. They are simply unbelievable. The characterisation is incredibly funny, beginning with Ma Flodder who searches other people's trash cans for food or making illegal liquor in her cellar and ending with the eldest daughter who is the biggest slut on earth. Together they make the most horrible family imaginable, a sort of immoral mirror image to the Brady Bunch or the Waltons. When the City counsel of Amsterdam hoped that the Flodders would show their good will to be more civilised in their new area, it turns out that Holland's most famous family would rather bring out the worst in the rich people of "Sun Valley"-wonderland. The rest is a hilarious, brilliant and well made social satire that can be watched as a provocative movie as well as a straightforward comedy. Dick Maas at his best. I salute him! Flooder was the Dutch smash hit in 1986 and brought two sequels and a tv series. All of the sequels were nice but not as great as the original.

Why is First Floor Features, the producer of the movie not bringing the Dick Maas blockbusters out on DVD in the Netherlands, I wonder. The are not even available on video there. These movies have so much potential, still to this day and have a huge silent but true following.

当时的英国真的从上到下都烂透了的感觉。不管怎样他张伯伦到底哪里来的脸跑去把人家捷克的地承诺给德国啊，然后人家捷克还全程不在场…回国后英国上下一顿吹，没一个人觉得这里面有道德问题？？？ 果然不到一年就啪啪打脸。
一战战壕到二战前夕，前线小兵到首相秘书，George MacKay特快专递情报信件的标志性场景「荞麦跑」现已正式列入影史。严肃正剧的定位注定除了集齐优秀演员，重现昨日以讽喻当下政治的些微意义之外，对如今世界仅剩「道德说教」。工整乏味的导演手法使其无法跳出纪录片语法的阴影，即使借助原著在课本事件的空白间隙里穿针虚构，惊悚氛围和人物塑造的表现依然毫无新招，趣味寥寥。当片尾字幕亮出，影片用意更是昭然若揭：给被单一主流叙事方向盖棺定论为绥靖罪人的张伯伦一次重新建构，但也因此过度干涉引导的意图，电影彻底失去影像的独立性沦为教学和创作两边不搭的尴尬产物。无数细节渗入明显来自刻意制造平行以作今日代言的后见之明，也让主线关于无法选择生存时代的立场相左无名人物的「抉择」变得虚浮，同窗走向陌路的设计亦全是老调。
欧洲版荆轲刺秦，结果荆轲输了，秦王也输了……给张伯伦翻案，给英国贴金，我就想问：世界大战“赢得”死缓一年，英国如果真在道德高地，为什么不主动通知欧洲其他国家也做好准备？比如一起签慕尼黑协议的法国后来一触即败；而且这一年，难道只有英国在备战吗？胸有成竹的希特勒难道没有赢得多一年的准备时间？这样想想，电影的narrative building 就显得幼稚至极了。另外英国男主演技很差，一张猿猴脸，永远惊诧木讷状，毫无厚度。他的老婆那条线也完全应该删掉，换成对莉娜角色的加强，这样开头结尾的大学三人行时光才有意义。
设定突破了硬拗的极限，剧情极其无脑，表演超级浮夸
政治是人类最深奥的学问。扮演希特勒的演员真心不行。

关于元历史，「政治现实」和具体的人；片尾字幕或许削弱了影片的电影性，但我无比认同Paul对「希望」的解构：当被抛入所处的时代，「主体性」是用行动来书写的——德意志外交官其实是一位存在主义大师。（Hugh/Paul让我代到特吕弗/戈达尔是可以说的吗
以前所看到过的历史表述，大都指责张伯伦，这部电影就道出了首相的良苦用心。战争的直接受害者都是平民百姓，不到万不得已时，绝对不是热爱民众的政治家的选项。此时此刻，战争容易而和平难，激怒纳粹容易而缓解其大规模的铤而走险难。利用外交手段尽量将战争延缓，为盟国争取宝贵的准备时间，这是张伯伦处在那一历史时刻的伟大贡献。
好莱坞大片《明斯克》预“定项”，金凯瑞饰美稀宗，丹尼尔克雷格演俄武帝，杰瑞米雷纳饰乌伶侯。全片就被一句话给毁了，美西方真就背靠电影工业为所欲为，硬洗裱糊匠张中堂的无能。😅
重塑历史记忆是很重要的一件事，先是《敦刻尔克：英国英勇战斗之地》，跟着就是《张伯伦：被误解的抵抗者》、《苏联：二战的发动者》，过两年再拍一部《希特勒：欧洲的守护者》。
美如画的兄弟爱情片，开场很像《巴黎烟云》。We have no chance to choose the times we live, the only thing we can choose is how we respond. Hope is waiting for others else to do sth. 真的很让人伤心的片，但小狗一直在搞笑，我都伤感不起来…
架空历史片，张伯伦真是各种让啊…也难怪二战后英国被彻底肢解……
两个主角从头到尾没起到什么关键作用，倒是让张伯伦给大家上了一堂政治的艺术。

好基友的惺惺相惜令人动容，大时代下个人是那样渺小。元首的选角太失败了，是营养不良么？两人交换情报是不是太明目张胆了，非要在人多嘴杂的酒吧？
LD说：“也许这就是人类在面对重大历史灾难前的无奈。我们无从知道历史背后的真相，但小说为我们提供了一个可能的视角，这就够了。”
当历史英耽看很好嗑。喜欢这类大变局前夕的电影。不过不同意片尾的文字，美化了。
谈谈我个人的想法，希特勒一直被宣传成反派的极致，但我想他掌权之前。对周围的人，无论是他的上层，还是下级表现的都是一个极其美的能争取到信任的形象，让他有了实权之后。才会翻脸变坏！人，不都是这样吗？
