科幻的外壳家庭的主题，没有特别复杂的情节和人物关系，但余味很长。除了汉克斯很强的独角戏外，都是日常家庭可见可触摸的感受，机器人也相当于人生中的父子关系。但关系处理很细致到位，和看日本的家庭电影一样的感受，其实是有相通之处
