The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 7.3 快意恩仇的西部片越来越少了。剧情很简单，金盆洗手的枪手隐藏了多年，救了不该救的人，赢了枪战，输了性命。老亨利的演员演技确实非常赞……
就是交待老亨利身份的时间有一点点快。
案情交代的不算很清晰，但是能看懂。男主和男二的颜值可以说很配。
这部电影我真的很感触，可能是我最近心情也比较低谷的原因吧，就很共鸣，那种压抑感真的很共鸣、另外这个警察真的很像桑总，我看的稍微有点跳戏，小卷毛也很漂亮，尤其是眼睛、两人之间的那种感情真的很让我感触、不知道为什么这部电影的画面镜头什么的明明是压抑挂的但莫名的很戳我观感、我已经很久没有看过这种能让我安安静静看下来之后内心还会有感触的电影了、真的很久没有看过了、片尾的bgm很宁静很好听
两星半。以悬疑犯罪为背景展现了一个阴冷灰暗的冬季下自我认知的故事。认清自我这条线讲的还可以，虽然中规中矩但也娓娓道来。而cp戏其实很少，俩人在审讯室有揪心到。但在看到最后受也骗了男主后对峙让他滚，明明攻是过来救他，我攻控劲就飙上来了，情绪全没，我日。（不了解波兰，但看起来对性少数群体的迫害从古至今全球都是一样的。）
21年拍的西部没有一点违和感，👍
如果你是不喜歡黑暗抑鬱題材的人，這部電影可能就不適合你看了，因為影片的氛圍和劇情讓人看完內心衝擊會有點深，感覺心情都變得低沉了。
关于感情
刺破黑幕，后面是幽深的渊薮。贯穿两个板块很勉强，可惜。
还蛮爱的。天哪！只是在想为什么西方国家会这么讨厌同性恋？
隐匿在匣中的枪依旧等待着现世展露锋芒的一刻，舒缓的风中我们又看到了那个美利坚曾经残酷的西部，让枪声再多飞一会儿吧…
我不是很喜欢看这种追查片，因为意识力不专注的我会自动忽略片中有关案件的所有细节，但其中的戏剧冲突我却是会保留的。
“做人不能什么都怕，尤其是害怕自由。”在黑暗绝望的大环境下，大家依然不失自我，苦中作乐，在派对上纵情跳舞，令人动容。
整部片子的氛围都好压抑啊，但是压抑下又暗情涌动，但又看不到希望地绝望…看完莫名的难受
看的淡了，就看的清楚了。

男主留个小胡子太有味儿了。
