風景優美而又節奏緩慢，特別是開篇的三十分鐘，不僅節奏緩慢而且混亂，以至於勸退效果極強，因為根本抓不住影片的主線，整不明白影片說的是啥。40分鐘左右，終於可以明確影片講述的是主角少年法比托身邊發生的一些人和事。其中有主角父母的恩愛、分歧、中毒死亡；暗戀的小姨懷孕、流產、瘋狂；哥哥耽於享樂；朋友入獄；心儀的女孩有人安慰。在經歴了痛苦與沈默之後，男主得以與崇拜的導演交談，在導演的啟發與鼓勵一下，男主下定決心追尋文藝電影之夢。
