The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 终于看了浸入式戏剧Sleep No More原型的莎士比亚剧《麦克白》的故事，不过黑白片+1.19:1的画面比例让影帝影后失色不少。还是重新发行成全彩+全屏吧！听说这个弑君故事还有一个2015年的电影版，Michael Fassbender+ Marion Cotillard主演。
有几个场景我特别喜欢，但是没有英文字幕的情况下看太吃力了。
极简风的宫殿以及打光有着十分强烈的舞台剧色彩，而对于声音的运用(放大的血滴于地上与脚步声相呼应等等)，三姐妹恍若分裂人格的展现手法以及面具意象则充分发挥了电影画面的优势。黑白色调更是赋予这个故事应有的沉郁感。
极简服化道，剩下的就全是细节和特写，相当托华盛顿和科恩嫂的表演。他们完成地非常出色。连女巫都演得出彩。相较之下，演麦克迪夫的黑人演员很逊。
大科恩的改编剧本太保守了，戏剧舞台和电影结合，台词几乎莎翁原版，剧情也好像没什么变化。还是现代改编老作品的一贯视角，所谓结构经典神话勾连现代人们的精神困境，这点倒不是乔伊斯的意识流味儿而是偏精神分析各种符号的生添硬加。
极致形式感，视觉控的享受，摄影彰显魔力，浓浓的奥逊威尔斯味儿，表现主义手法去拍古典戏剧，悲悯苍凉，戏剧台词可以汇成诗篇。（另外女巫没提奥斯卡女配真悲哀）
把麦克白浓缩到光和影和表演，to the core，好适合学生看
这个黑白对路，和极简背景相得益彰。台词，表演，人像特写都是教科书级别的。
想了一下这座城堡甚至可以拍所有莎翁的戏 保留古英语最大程度还原莎翁的戏本，演员在里面反而不重要了其实
丹泽尔同志操着一口地道美式英语把麦克白从英武上将到践祚登基到野心覆灭的复杂的悲剧性的心理活动诠释的如同白开水，只在最后十五分钟的末路对决中进入了状态，凭着那个拾起掉落皇冠的动作，原谅这个男主角提名。弗太后的麦克白夫人也只能说是无功无过，出场不过五分钟的女巫令人印象深刻。
这是话剧吗？科恩为什么拍莎士比亚？没必要拍。
I have no words it’s so well made in every single aspect. I loved the witches, the birds, the leaves, the girl in the water, the monologue. Frances McDormand and Denzel Washington are THE actors of their generation. Will need a rewatch with subtitles in the future.

摄影，光影运用，表演，均是顶级，但整合在一起却并没有那么合理。
简洁主义的布景、极为考究的台词、充满张力的表演、自成一体的美学，使得影片具有浓厚的舞台剧色彩。这也不同于科恩兄弟以往的作品，或许是由于乔尔·科恩单独执导本片，我更愿将这部电影视为其“单飞”后的实验作品。

莎翁的東西無論怎麼改也還是魅力永存。畫幅和黑白的復古設定更是讓影片有了一絲高級感。
这光影布景无敌，科恩的极简式改编。欧洲的文学巨著却启用黑人演员，也算大胆尝试了。
棚里拍摄，摄影还是强的，转场丝滑。
