The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 故事节奏台词太有问题了，铃原樱开枪那里真的看笑了（新剧场加的那么多配角不知道有什么意义）。对比纪录片看得出来很多地方的处理都很仓促，期间穿插大量东亚爹式的说教，确实感觉庵野上年纪了对eva也没什么好讲的了，你还是去拍特摄吧。另，比起前三部，（没意义的）杀必死镜头多到令人不适，请卡拉意识到一部极端商业化的作品和劝人脱宅本身是有冲突的，何况这次的故事还是三流，就挺好笑。
经过了序破Q的铺垫，故事来到了父子对峙，初号机与13号机大打出手，在各各他体，人类意志可以扭转命运的记忆里，绝望与希望碰撞，净化灵魂的第四次冲击出现，真嗣重新站立，碇源堂与唯重聚的空想破灭，没有EVA的幸福生活到来。
像是痞子在《真心为你》报复社会后重新得到了一次机会来赎罪，还给大家一个美好的结局，与过去的所有人，剧中的、剧外的，一一和解。
这是你是人类的明确证明
真正的人类补完计划：成长为大人，与自己和解，与他人和解，与世界和解
只是看个爽绝对足够了，也别怪庵野秀明，如今不存在创作出真正好作品的土壤，只可惜没有早点结束这个系列，拧巴的价值观落脚点也算是创作者在这个烂透了时代的一种求仁得仁吧，这么想就挺好理解的。

EVA之所以经典，可能就是每次让人想起EVA这个词，都会结合当前的人生经历，感慨万千吧。
与这个不喜欢的世界和解
涌动的情绪和巨大的脑洞、本质上的悲观与死磕到底的意气，通过EVA投注进一代人心中，创造出一种夹杂了恶心的美感。
按科学的命名法，近第三次冲击应该叫做quasi third impact而不是near三。配乐拉胯，随便用个巴赫或大俗威安魂或者Janacek的Glagolitic Mass也要好得多。

就是故意组意想不到的cp好引爆话题，故意让丽重温爆头，让香重温被揍，借这些乱七八糟的东西来打造最后的终局，让全球为瘩子的剧情鼓掌。但这剧情讲了个啥玩意，终的火爆是因为剧情吗？这终有剧情吗，父亲补完计划？将真嗣的性格缺陷锅全权丢给老父亲？终的火爆说白了是用不合理的点鸳鸯谱来恶心之前的观众而引发的火爆，用成长的话题来喂你一口糖让各位旧观众不至于那么难受，新观众们自然没尝到苦头，大叫成长快乐。这可真有你的瘩子，PUA老手了，流量和钱全都赚到手了
再见了，所有的Evangleiion。真嗣和所有的角色跑入现实，他们是不灭的吧
