The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 这世界充满苦难与未知的恐惧，但是总有一些阳光与温暖，总有一些东西让我们感受到阳光与温暖，于是我们还能继续活着
911导致飞机迫降，一大堆来自世界各地不同的语言、信仰、性向、饮食的陌生人被迫隔离封闭在一个小岛。导致的个体巨大的孤独、断层感，与世界割裂崩塌(虽然生活扔要继续)，失去一切被无力所吞噬，在困境中如同cosplay的异样。承受着同样的割裂与孤独的人们无法忍受新闻，走出家门为陌生人做点什么，用宽容与爱去对抗这一切的故事。
挺感动的。在现有体量和形式下做得够好了…（音乐剧本身就很难把内容做得特别深）这个戏本身也像911事件中的甘德一样提供了近乎乌托邦式的美好、友善、温暖。对于戏剧应该如何改编真实事件，和当下产生互动还蛮有启发的。
简单的舞美和巧妙的设计，让每次转场都顺利又神奇。在大时代震动下的每一个小人物的故事都是如此动人。
剧本和音乐都好棒！一个很沉重的题材却一直通过场景转换来减轻大家的悲伤…加上个人的故事和小镇居民的爱心，最后看到眼睛湿润…
2001至2021，世界变了又好像没变。先不说这样的美式主旋律正能量和国内作品的立意高下问题，100分钟的舞台演绎中，完全打破了传统音乐剧的情节和幕次、空间与场景、台词与唱段的界限，让技术完全为艺术表达服务，就很赞！
