The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 夸夸所有演员，基本都是一人分饰几角，不停通过衣着来区分角色，布景虽然只有简单的桌椅，但是结合转盘却运用的十分巧妙。
曾经买了票却因为疫情取消的巡演；小成本制作的最佳效果；一群人演一群人、每个人都是主角、所有的“自己”都是“别人”……令人惊喜的新形式，甚至还歪打正着地蕴含了某种深度，不禁让人感叹，剧场到底还能玩出多少新花样？缺点是三观过正、略显说教……非常怀念音乐剧现场——911事件二十周年纪念日看“官摄版”
第一看这种类型的音乐剧，没有经典音乐剧耳熟能详、令人心潮澎湃的唱段，也没有《汉密尔顿》《Six》那样流行得抓耳又抓眼，扣准现代大众审美，相比之下它的故事铺开得有点平淡写实，但这样的节奏和画面又并不无趣。
