The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 自然景观构成的情境生成机制是本片一切秘密的源头，虚焦镜头下的镜头切换不再明确而聚合为浓重却机械的情绪肌体，而当音乐响起，被自然景观共情驱动的精确蒙太奇开始暴露出并不高明的情绪引导倾向。人物状态/局部动作在机位视角下得以迅速丰富视觉，除此外的镜头运作逻辑几乎是完全透明且低下的，手持镜头的运动方向完全出于基本认知，并无真正创造美学价值的影像。文本结构的极简并不是情节空洞的真正原因，其带来的情感力量完全是写作层面不自觉触发的。公路片架构的情节堆叠（非演进）仅为表意的前进，而情感/情境却是一直凝滞不前的，真正让电影前进的无非是将模糊情感渗透至具体段落的机械系统。

3-2 等不到电影院上映了，所以直接下载看了（结果后来导演又被cancel）。看完之后才后知后觉电影的余味，就真的是无依无靠到处流浪，年老力衰没有金钱，子女也在他们自己的世界里好好生活着。

一个中国导演能拍出这样的片子很不错。有时让我想起瓦尔达。不过把丧亲之痛与寻求自由的人生态度混在一起谈，有些重心不明确。

当一个人同时失去了家人和家园时会体验到的孤独，公路旅途也是探索生命意义的路途，关于丧失与疗愈、羁绊与放手、关于生死。其实片中涉及的每一种问题和状态都让人不忍去触碰和细思，但导演不仅有勇气触碰，而且处理得极为克制，哀而不伤，灰凉中又有光亮。
