The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 手术台上的钟表越走越慢、中世纪风的乌鸦医生握着婴儿飘进迷宫、结满蛛网的石像眼球转动，爆炸是宇宙的尽头也是开端……虽然总体风格脏乱cult，但有好几个意象我都超喜欢。

顶着部分画面所带来的略微的生理不适，我还是看完了。对于剧情和画面，我只能分别说，我看不懂，但我大受震撼。也许剧情在本片压根不重要，画面才是导演想让你关注的所在。猎奇至极。据说是历时30年才完成的，可敬可敬，但也确实难以称之为好看。
或许，它仅仅只是想表达痛苦，我们存活于世间这肮脏的痛苦。
