The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 剧本一般，但是血淋淋地刻画了平民在战争中的渺小与乌东冲突的根源。在此顺便声明我对于俄乌冲突的看法 :俄罗斯并非共产主义国家，并非"同志"，其发动军事行动也旨在维护自身的利益，但是不可否认的是，乌克兰高层对于乌克兰武装力量中的纳粹成分不加清洗甚至大肆表彰，俄军并非"侵略者，而所有乌克兰纳粹都应该下地狱。"
代入感很强，跟着理查德·林克莱特走进他的童年，走进光芒万丈的60年代。电影、音乐、桌游、户外、玩伴……还有阿波罗10½号的太空梦，我的9岁不曾拥有也无法企及的这些，羡慕得我连看了两遍。
