The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 除了章子怡外都延续了鲜明的导演风格，硬汉、市民、无厘头。四个关于民族、国家、时代和未来的故事。两悲两喜，先悲后喜，好像赚足眼泪后又逗你开心。画面从残旧衰败到现代科幻，情绪的反差、画面的反差，让故事更深刻。许多细节更是细腻，《诗》中哥哥带着妹妹放完孔明灯后站在妹妹身后捂住妹妹耳朵大哭的一幕简直催泪瓦斯。

徐峥的故事有老上海味道，有80年代上海人物和生活旧场景，喜欢这个故事，有意思，但妻子是宋佳演的，一开始没有看出来，这东北妞说上海话有点别扭，不太象，冬冬小朋友韩昊霖依旧可爱，朗读我的爸爸作文时好有感情，章子怡这段有点感人，沈腾也没有那么好爱，吴京这段太一般
