The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 想表达的东西是深沉的，但是戏剧结构的张力稍有不足。但依旧是港片的熟悉配方，舒服。
以为还不错的港片，看来实在是浪费。因为故事的背景就是富二代之间的恩怨情仇，如果死者只是个平民女孩呢，是不是更有看头？里面的证据也是来来回回，简直似法律为儿戏，不是很好的正面宣传片。
现在的港片大部分都是这样，就很多是工工整整，不功不过，能将就看但又不是很好的，批量生产的网大，这部就是其中所说，阵容还可以，演员在线就能很大程度弥补本身薄弱的剧情，廖启智的表演一如既往的点睛，不管是出场多长时间依然是亮点，RIP
唯一就是船上那场爆发的戏到位了。
这种电影可以一边吃饭一边看，不怕中间落下剧情
故事老套，演技浮夸，节奏稀烂，毫无悬念，甚至内涵都没有。什么名导名编老演员已经救不了香港电影，就像光靠ps美颜已经撑不起剧里那几张松弛的脸。
太过理想的反博一击，顺利制服富家子，匡扶正义。
也不是不能看，只是为hk拍这种程度的片而感到遗憾

最后五分钟bgm好高级
尽管方中信的反转有些生硬，但还是比较符合客观。主要是策反了女死者的父亲。

【247/166】这是廖启智先生的遗作。但这并不是传统的老牌港片，一众老戏骨撑起了并无太大波澜的剧情，基本上开场没多久就能猜到最终的结局如何…这大概不是法律正义的体现吧，而是双方权贵之间的斗争，必有输赢！
中段，港片的法庭辩论要是电影里演的，那就太扯蛋了。什么时候不戴假发了，也许就真正回归了。
剧中有句台词，大概是：“对有的人来说法律是一门生意，但对有的人来说法律是一种信仰”。毕业快20年，已经说不出法律还是不是我的信仰。
用电视剧的节奏来拍电影，当然还是差意思的。智叔rip。
其实节奏还可以，但整体看下来，就是中规中矩的一部作品。
大概知道想拔到一个什么高度，但真的不行，讲故事很一般啊，廖启智遗作，有些唏嘘，打三星。

公义要靠非法手段实现，每个人都为实现公义付出代价，这是法制的悲哀，公义与法制间矛盾这种早已拍滥的题材，依然一直有人拍，而这种对法制的不信任，试问又是因何而成？
